Our mission is to share kindness in the community and   help rebuild hope for local families that are in distress      due to a personal or natural emergency, illness, abuses,  or homelessness by meeting their immediate needs         including offering clothing, personal care items,               household items and furniture.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to do something to help people less fortunate.  Over the years, we have adopted families during the holiday season.  We have given to different charities, ministries, etc.  After adopting our son from Guatemala, we thought we would like to help the people of Guatemala.  However, that holiday season really opened our eyes to how many people right in our own community needed our help more than we were able to imagine.  I decided I would choose one project to work on and put all of my energy into it.  I decided to come up with a project that over time would help many families get over some of the small problems they are facing.  I wanted a project that we could do as a family and get all of our friends involved in as well.  Then one day our friends would get their friends involved and it would continue to grow.  I knew when all our families and friends came together we could make it happen!  In January 2007, the Friendship Tree was founded.

  The Friendship Tree

Helping families turn a new leaf, one family at a time.
Who is the Friendship Tree?

The Friendship Tree is a group of people just like you who join together to fill needs in our community. We are an outreach organization that provides families who find themselves in difficult circumstances with clothing, furniture and basic needs. We provide a helping hand to those who otherwise might “fall through the cracks” when their need is at it’s highest.

When you sign up to receive Friendship Tree emails, YOU decide what you can do to help. Maybe you are able to fill the need of a new bicycle for a child, or even a package of diapers for a local baby. If you are not able to respond to a particular email, maybe the next one will present a family’s need that tugs at your heart.

There are many opportunities to help our community neighbors through The Friendship Tree. From providing a card of encouragement with a plant to making a teenager’s simple Birthday wish come true, your giving will make a difficult time a little bit easier. As a member of the Friendship Tree you will receive updates about annual and on-going programs that need your support such as Holiday Giving and The Shower of Hope.

There is no fee to become a member of The Friendship Tree. How much you participate is your choice, so please join us today and become active within the Friendship Tree network!
