Helping families turn a new leaf, one family at a time.
Our mission is to share kindness in the community and help rebuild hope for local families that are in distress due to a personal or natural emergency, illness, abuses, or homelessness by meeting their immediate needs including offering clothing, personal care items, household items and furniture.
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to do something to help people less fortunate. Over the years, we have adopted families during the holiday season. We have given to different charities, ministries, etc. After adopting our son from Guatemala, we thought we would like to help the people of Guatemala. However, that holiday season really opened our eyes to how many people right in our own community needed our help more than we were able to imagine. I decided I would choose one project to work on and put all of my energy into it. I decided to come up with a project that over time would help many families get over some of the small problems they are facing. I wanted a project that we could do as a family and get all of our friends involved in as well. Then one day our friends would get their friends involved and it would continue to grow. I knew when all our families and friends came together we could make it happen! In January 2007, the Friendship Tree was founded.
Who is the Friendship Tree?
The Friendship Tree is made up of people who want to make a difference in our community. It is a joint effort by many people in our network to help families in need turn a new leaf, one family at a time.
It is our children, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors!
The Friendship Tree is a wonderful way to get involved in making a difference in your community. You can be involved a little or a lot, it is up to you. As agencies, organizations and church send referrals of families who need our help, I send an email to our entire network requesting the items needed. If you can or want to help, you respond to the email. If you can't help at that time, then there is no need to respond. It is very easy being a member of the Friendship Tree. If you would like to join our network of friends, contact us today.
