During the Holidays many of our elderly friends are forgotten. We would like to let them know that the Friendship Tree didn't forget them. At Christmas the Friendship Tree likes to make a difference for the elderly in our community who are home bound and alone. In past years we have put together small gift bags to hand out. We have noticed over the years that many other small groups have also started doing gift bags for the elderly. At Easter time we have been very successful with the Easter Lily campaign we do for the elderly. So we decided to do something a little different this year and instead of giving out the gift bags we are going to give out Poinsettias.
Meals on Wheels will deliver them for us like they do the lilies. Their clients LOVE the flowers! Many have never received a flower from anyone before. It is amazing to hear how the lilies touched each of them. We want the poinsettias to do the same.
Each poinsettia will include a small personalized holiday card from the Friendship Tree.
We are asking our members and their friends and families to sponsor a poinsettia for an elderly person in our community. We have been offered the wholesale price of $3.50 per poinsettia (4 1/2 inch pot) with foil and plastic sleeve so this will be the sponsor fee.
